Weather

High winds, some snow at higher altitudes.

Conditions

Snow conditions superb, weather conditions dreadful. High winds kept the gondola closed and made all runs at the top of the mountains very cold and unpleasant.

Overall

Walking to breakfast

The first day of the whole family ski holiday. After the run down to the city to get skis and a traditional Ziggy's breakfast, we all booked lessons and set out.

We were destined NOT all to have lessons. Weather conditions were dreadful, high winds kept the gondola shut and there was blowing snow at the Summit. Jenny dropped her ski pole under the ski team lift (just off Willy's run) and did not have a hat.

So, I skied with Jenny for most of the day. We got ski patrol to recover the pole and bought a hat. We then skied over most of the mountain, returning to the village for lunch with everyone else.

Cold but happy. Funny how the best snow is associated with the most unpleasant weather!
